Saul Bass-like Game of Thrones Title Sequence

“Since I love Saul Bass, the 60′s and HBO’s Game of Thrones, I made an alternative title sequence (like some others).” – Milan Vuckovic

Created by Berlin-based multimedia designer Milan Vuckovic, this video shows us how the acclaimed Game of Thrones title sequence might look like if it was crafted by legendary graphic designer Saul Bass. This version of the opening credits sequence adopts Bass’s typical stark silhouettes and backgrounds of vivid colours. The video features silhouettes of GoT icons like castles, deer, and dragons instead of human body parts – the Bass trademark.

The title sequence is also accompanied by a serene rendition of the theme song by Scott Bradlee feat. Dave Koz (originally by Ramin Djawadi) as an addition to the 1960s mood of the video.

Apart from creating logos and posters for films like Vertigo and Anatomy of a Murder, Saul Bass also acted as a “visual consultant” with film masters like Alfred Hitchcock and Stanley Kubrick to produce radiant title sequences in the style of his posters. It was entertaining to see what this generation’s most popular title sequence might look like in the hands of a classic artist such as Saul Bass.
