Easy Color Palette Tips

There are six elements of art: line, shape, color, texture, value, and mass. We combine these elements to communicate our ideas and information. One particular element will surely make a design seems dull without it. Color. It plays a major role on how a design will be interpreted by the audience. The color palette we choose define our identity. However important color choices are, we tend not to give it a high priority especially since we have a lot of elements to consider. Color deserves more attention because it is one the most evident element of a design. We see something before we feel it. That is why it’s vital that we choose the right colors to catch the attention of our audience.

In this article, we’ll give you some simple yet very effective color palette tips that you may use in creating designs.

This is a traditional color scheme type. A monochromatic color scheme is made of different tones (gray plus hue), shades (black plus hue), and tints (white plus hue) of a specific color or hue.

Contrast is a must do in design. Using bright colors with white is another simple color scheme yet it gives your design a stunning look. Also, we think that combining any color with white have always been a safe choice.

Pastel colors give a soft and smooth mood in your design. These soothing hues will surely give a neutral and elegant feel to your designs.

Another traditional color scheme type. Complementary color schemes are achieved by combining colors opposite each other in the color wheel. Basically, a complementary color scheme consists of two colors, but sometimes can easily played with tones, tints, and shades.

These color palettes are just simple examples and may not work on your designs projects. Remember, choose carefully and take into consideration your client’s wants and needs.
